Sydney moved to New Orleans in 2020 to attend Tulane University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Sociology as well as a certificate in Gender-Based Violence in December 2023. Sydney joined Tulane’s Sexual Aggression Peer Hotline and Education (SAPHE) organization within her first year, and was highly active within the organization throughout her undergraduate career. She emphasized using a social justice lens while participating in virtual and in-person survivor support, educational workshops, and event planning.

Sydney is highly committed to research in trauma that prioritizes underserved and marginalized populations. She has assisted with multiple published studies as well as facilitating her own independent projects.

In her personal time, Sydney enjoys baking a fun treat, reading a good book, hosting friends and family, or working on a new crochet project
