Maya Jammulapati

she/her/hers
Resource Advocate, New Orleans

Maya moved to New Orleans from Salt Lake City, Utah in 2019 to pursue her bachelor’s degree at Tulane University. In May 2023 she received a Bachelor of Science in Ecological and Evolutionary Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Dance. As a first year, Maya joined Tulane’s Sexual Aggression Peer Hotline and Education (SAPHE), an organization dedicated to supporting survivors of sexual assault, educating the campus community, and promoting an anti-oppressive framework. In her fourth year, she became the organization’s Hotline Manager overseeing phone shifts while training and supporting fellow advocates.

Maya is passionate about empowering survivors and striving to understand power-based violence. She hopes to equip individuals with the autonomy to reclaim their journey as they heal.

In her free time, Maya enjoys spending time outside exploring, reading books, cooking, biking, playing Frisbee, and doing ceramics.
