Laysi Putman joins STAR as their volunteer and outreach coordinator by way of Serve Louisiana for the 2024-25 term year. She was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. With a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from Southeastern Louisiana University and her love of helping others, she is excited to bring her mind and skills to STAR.

Laysi is passionate about educating others on important issues through creative ways. She hopes to build a career in the design industry focusing on social impact.

A quote that she likes to live by is “It’s not my fault, but it is my problem”. As the volunteer and outreach coordinator she hopes to overturn the stigma surrounding sexual assault and connect STAR to those in the community who need them.

In her free time she likes to read, watch tv shows, work on passion projects and cuddle with her senior cat, Buddy.
