Kaya Foster is a native New Orleanian and dedicated advocate for survivors. As a former Part-Time Medical Advocate with STAR, Kaya developed a deep understanding of survivor-centered advocacy, crisis response, and community collaboration. Her years of experience in gender-based violence research have strengthened her commitment to promoting equity, healing, and empowerment for survivors.

Kaya brings a trauma-informed and compassionate approach to her work, emphasizing the importance of culturally responsive support and systems-level change. As she steps into her new role as Survivor Response Manager with STAR, Kaya is eager to continue building partnerships, supporting her team, and ensuring survivors receive the care, respect, and resources they deserve.
