Elana Cohen, PLPC, NCC, moved to New Orleans in 2016, where they earned a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health from Loyola University in 2024. Elana joined the STAR team in 2025, after working as a Community Educator in the fields of housing law, civil rights, conflict resolution, and community organizing.

As a Counselor at STAR, Elana believes that clients should feel ownership within the therapeutic process and approaches counseling through a holistic lens, focusing on mind-body wellness as a path to healing both individually and collectively.

Outside of work, Elana enjoys hanging out with her dog and cooking with friends!
