Courtney joins our Baton Rouge branch as a native of Plaquemine, LA. Since moving to Baton Rouge, Courtney has earned a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Southern University. In her program, she concentrated in Psychology while minoring in Child Development. Now, Courtney is pursuing a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy while being an awesome member of our Advocacy team. Courtney’s past experiences include being a Substance Abuse and Mental Health Specialist, an 8th Grade Social Studies Teacher, and a Near Peer Facilitator (YWCA). Courtney enjoys empowering and helping people while providing quality care and services. As a Resource Advocate with STAR, she plans to continue creating the change people need and hope to experience by expanding her knowledge, raising awareness, and supporting survivors and their communities.
