Coping with Compassion Fatigue Workshop – Baton Rouge

Join STAR on Thursday, September 12th from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. for a Coping with Compassion Fatigue Workshop. This workshop is offered free of charge and open to mental health professionals and any other professionals working in the trauma field.

As a result of this course, participants will be able to:
-Define vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, and burnout
-Identify common signs and symptoms of vicarious trauma
-Identify strategies for seeking support when experiencing vicarious trauma
-Apply strategies and practices to prevent or reduce vicarious trauma
-Define self-care
-Identify self-care practices to implement at work and in their personal life

This program is approved for 3.0 general contact hours for social workers by Sexual Trauma Awareness and Response as authorized by the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners. These workshops are made possible by funding from the ReCAST Grant Program, Office of the Mayor-President Sharon Weston-Broome.
