CenLA Open House and Community Fundraiser

Dear Community Members,
We’re excited to invite you to “Calling All STARs: A Community Open House & Fundraiser,” an opportunity to connect, contribute, and help empower sexual assault survivors in Central Louisiana. The event will take place at STAR’s Central Louisiana office, and we would be honored to have your presence and support.
Tour. Donate. Empower.
This isn’t just a fundraiser, it’s an open invitation to see firsthand the impact of our work. At STAR, we provide free, trauma-focused therapy delivered by licensed clinicians to both adults and children, regardless of system involvement. We also offer case management, emergency financial assistance, and free legal representation to survivors of sexual trauma. From July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025, our Central Louisiana staff of three full-time and one part-time employees provided 5,846 services to survivors.
Unfortunately, like many service providers, we’ve been impacted by significant grant funding cuts this year. Despite this, the need for our services continues to grow. Your support can help ensure that survivors continue to receive the critical, compassionate care they deserve.
We are asking community members, businesses, and partners to get involved in the following ways:
- Attend our open house, take a tour, and learn more about what we do.
- Donate to sponsor vital services for survivors in the coming year.
- Contribute refreshments or door prizes to help make this event welcoming and successful.
- Spread the word to others who care about building a safer, more healing-centered community.
Your donation funds the critical services survivors in Central Louisiana count on. Whether it’s a survivor needing transportation to an appointment, a child receiving legal representation for a protection order, or a parent receiving group therapy, your contribution makes healing, safety, and justice possible.
We hope you’ll answer the call and join us. Together, we can continue building a community free from sexual trauma and oppression.
With gratitude,
Morgan Lamandre, Esq.
