Debra Barnett LCSW (she/hers) has moved around the country, starting in the Mid-West. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She switched from the Education arena, as well as being a Licensed Massage Therapist, and earned her Masters in Social Work from LSU in 2014.
Her experience includes a Clinical Internship at STAR, Intensive Family Preservation, Family Permanency Specialist on a court team, Mental Health Rehabilitation, Intensive Outpatient Program Counselor, Director of Client Services at Iris Domestic Violence Center, and Behavioral Health Case Manager for Easterseals of LA where she was contracted to a Florida Parishes mental health clinic.
Debra’s passion is assisting, supporting and guiding trauma survivors in their healing, and re-discovering their power and ability to pursue their goals. She uses an eclectic strengths-based approach, including CBT, NLP, Mind-Body Trauma techniques, and focuses on teaching coping skills for emotional regulation and managing triggers.
In her free time, she connects with nature, goes to the beach whenever possible, spends time socializing with friends and family, when possible, and enjoys her dog.
