Sylvia Ferrera is a counseling intern who will be receiving her Masters in Counselor Education from the University of New Orleans, in December of 2025. Sylvia has a bachelors in general studies with a concentration on geography and sociology, from the University of New Orleans and studied music education at Loyola University. Sylvia grew up in New Orleans where she developed her love for music and community. She is also a violin instructor.

Sylvia chose STAR as her internship site because she believes that helping survivors heal, and empowering them to move forward is necessary for the mental health of society.
