Kristen Williams earned a Bachelors degree in Psychology in 2011 and Masters in Applied Sociology with a concentration in Criminal Justice in 2013. She also received a Masters in Social Work from Louisiana State University in 2016. During her graduate experience at LSU, she interned with STAR where she gained experience working with survivors and secondary survivors of trauma as well as co-facilitating groups.
Throughout her career endeavors, she has gained much experience providing mental health services to both children and adults in the home, school and community setting, collaborated with social service agencies, school counselors, teachers and other interdisciplinary officials in providing the best care and interventions for clients, completed assessments with practice diagnosis, become familiar with interventions that best serve the particular client and encouraged and assisted clients and client guardians with developing the skills to advocate for services. She is macro-minded and is passionately striving for systemic and social change.
