JC Andries, LCSW
Counselor, Baton Rouge
JC earned her Bachelor of Social Work in 2020 and her Master of Social Work in 2021, both from Louisiana State University. She holds an active credential as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Her professional interests lie in family of origin issues and trauma – specifically sexual trauma and attachment trauma. She works primarily from a psychodynamic framework, utilizing a parts work and attachment focused model with her clients. She is trained in EMDR and will complete an IFS Level 1 training in August. She has been involved with STAR first as a volunteer hotline advocate, and now as a counselor.
She would describe her therapeutic style as relational, and prioritizes being authentic and genuine in her relationship with clients. Clients can trust that JC will be honest with them as they work together. She believes that the strength of the therapeutic relationship is the biggest predictor for successful client outcomes, and strives to foster a warm and trusting environment with her clients. JC believes that people will naturally move towards healing as long as they are given the space for it. She enjoys providing this space for clients while they work together to accomplish their goals.
