STAR Volunteer Advocate Training – Deadline to Apply!

STAR relies on volunteer advocates to staff our 24/7 hotlines in Alexandria, Baton Rouge, and New Orleans. We are currently seeking volunteers to undergo our STAR Core Advocate Training. This training is broken into two parts, an online portion and an in-person portion. The online learning portion must be completed prior to attending the in-person training. Due to Covid-19, this Fall’s in-person training will be provided virtually.

Training dates for Fall 2020 are as follows:

• Tuesday, September 15th, 5-9 p.m.
• Thursday, September 17th, 5-9 p.m.
• Saturday, September 20th, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
• Sunday, September 21st, 1-5 p.m.
• Tuesday, September 22nd, 5-9 p.m.

To become a volunteer, you must first complete our online application.
