Cecilia Ryder, RSW
Resource Advocate, Central Louisiana
Cecilia Ryder was born and raised in Alexandria, LA. She received her Bachelor’s in Social Work in 2014 at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa and then returned to Louisiana. She is currently working on her Master’s in psychology at the University of Louisiana at Monroe and plans to graduate in December of 2021. She has a passion for working with people to see their own strengths and empower them to be in control of their life.
Cecilia spent a year volunteering with STAR and then she was a Part Time Medical Advocate for three years before being hired as a Resource Advocate. During this time, she has had the privilege of meeting and advocating for many survivors during some of the hardest times of their lives. Cecilia enjoys educating the community about the serious effects of sexual assault and trauma in general. She takes advantage of all opportunities to talk with teenagers about healthy relationships, creating boundaries and consent. As a survivor of sexual assault she takes her personal experiences with her when she talks with anyone to better serve them.
