Cecilia Ryder, RSW

Resource Advocate, Central Louisiana 

Cecilia was born and raised in Alexandria, LA. She received her Bachelor’s in Social Work in 2014 at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa. She received her Master’s in Psychology at the University of Louisiana at Monroe in December of 2021. She has a passion for working with people to see their own strengths and empower them to be in control of their life.

Cecilia spent a year volunteering with STAR and then was a Part Time Medical Advocate for three years before being hired as a Resource Advocate. During this time, she has had the privilege of meeting and advocating for many survivors during some of the hardest times of their lives. 

Cecilia enjoys educating the community about the serious effects of sexual assault and trauma in general. She takes advantage of all opportunities to talk with people about healthy relationships, creating boundaries and consent. As a survivor of sexual assault she takes her personal experiences with her when she talks with anyone to better serve them.
