Bryn is originally from the Northeast but has been living in New Orleans for the past decade. In 2013, they received a Bachelor of Psychology from Loyola University New Orleans with a minor in Criminal Justice. They went on to earn their Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and their Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Loyola University New Orleans, graduating in 2019. Bryn is a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor and is Nationally Certified.
Bryn’s research interests include human trafficking, mass incarceration, and sexual violence. Bryn has over three years of experience working with sexual assault survivors, with a growing passion to spread awareness in any capacity possible. Bryn joined the STAR team in June 2018 as a Counseling Intern and is now a full-time Resource Advocate within the Advocacy Program.
Bryn is passionate about their position at STAR as a resource advocate and is looking forward to strengthening their crisis intervention skills and working with a variety of individuals from the community. Bryn believes that everyone should be able to receive services that promote healing and empowerment, especially after they are sexually assaulted.
Bryn is a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) PLC # 7897 and holds a provisional license with the Louisiana LPC Board of Examiners located at 11410 Lake Sherwood Avenue North, Suite A, Baton Rouge, LA 70816 (225-295-8444). The Louisiana LPC Board of Examiners has approved Dr. Thomas Fonseca, LPC-S, LMFT-SC, NCFS, NCC, 4123 Woodland Dr., New Orleans, LA 70131 (504-398-2207) as their LPC Board-Approved Supervisor. Dr. Fonseca is licensed with the Louisiana LPC Board as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and is approved to supervise PLPCs obtaining supervised experience hours needed to be fully licensed as a LPC in the State of Louisiana.
