Alexis Canfield, LMSW

she/her/hers
Counselor, Capital Area

Alexis is originally from Westchester, New York and has been residing in Baton Rouge since 2016. In May of 2016, she graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelors in Social Work and minor in Women’s Studies. During her first year of college, Alexis began working on a crisis hotline at the Women and Gender Advocacy Center. From that point forward, she knew she wanted to have a career working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.  Following graduation, Alexis continued to work as a Children and Family Case Manager at a domestic violence shelter and completed a year with Americorps as a City Year Corps Member. Her experiences have made her dedicated to empowering survivors and increasing community awareness surrounding sexual trauma.  Alexis works to create a safe and brave space with survivors, follows trauma-informed practices, and is always seeking ways to better serve her clients.
